Out with the old. In with the new!
And very rapidly too. Scarcely had the Wine Board of Ireland closed its doors, before, Phoenix-like, the Irish Wine Institute rose up out of its ashes.
At such speed, in fact, that no Web developer could hope to keep up: the iwi home page is still under development, though classes are starting in a week's time. For the moment, you will have to call. The dynamic Jacqueline Stedman is way ahead of herself.
And way ahead of the competition. The iwi is accredited with the internationally recognised Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), just as the Wine Board used to be, which means that it will be the de facto provider of training to the wine and spirit industries in Ireland.
As with the Wine Board, the enthusiastic amateur is more than welcome. Give Jacquie half a chance, and before you know it you will have the first of an impressive set of WSET professional certificates to put up amongst the more mundane ones that line the walls of your study: Master's degrees, your various doctorates and the like.
Jacquie, who is the face, heart and soul of the iwi can be reached on (083) 390 3452
